Birmingham Public Schools offers students in grades 9-12 two outstanding high schools: Groves High School and Seaholm High School. These fine schools offer top-notch academic curriculum, excellent student support services, superior instructional technology, hundreds of involvement opportunities for all students and exceptional parent and community support. These comprehensive four-year schools are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and enjoy a graduation rate of 98 percent.

Throughout the years, extensive renovations have taken place at both high schools. Upgrades included improved learning environments for students, state-of-the-art instructional technology and more attractive campuses. The high schools have new/renovated media centers electronically linked to every classroom, remodeled science labs, state-of-the-art technology areas, new music and art studios, new computer labs, remodeled student commons and cafeterias, Little Theatre and auditorium upgrades, and updated classrooms. Each classroom has three computer stations, Internet access and a large screen monitor for outside media and teacher or student presentations. Students and community members are also enjoying upgraded outdoor athletic facilities. Both high schools have upgrades to their indoor physical education and athletic facilities. This includes renovating the existing 3-court gym at Groves, building a new 3-court gym at Seaholm and a new 8-lane, stretch 25 pool at each high school.
